Feeling Green

Wow- I really have not been feeling so hot the last 2 days. I am really really tired, with a semi-upset stomach, an "aggravated" bowel, and a topsy-turvy appetite. I think I took at least 3 1.5 hour naps yesterday and I am amorously thinking about the bed as we speak. I didn't get out of my pjs at all yesterday, so I felt it was my duty to shower and dress today so that I didn't feel like such a bum. It is not working very well- that bed still sounds pretty enticing...

The little one has been kicking like MAD which can be quite uncomfortable at times. I think that s/he is going through a growth spurt right now because I discovered yet another baby stretch mark this morning before my shower... And I know it only gets "better" from here on out...

Locked and Loaded

I just got home from my latest appointment- I had t take the glucose tolerance test for gestational diabetes and I am hoping that I pass it- I will know in about a week! We have discovered that our baby is currently head down in my pelvis- which is great, because up until now it was breech. I realize that the wee one may still go back to being breech before my due date, but, for now, it is comfortably nestled in the pelvis. Oddly enough, ever since we discovered that, I have found myself realizing more and more that I really do have a baby in there- a baby that, due to the laws of nature- has to and WILL come out... I am not scared about it or anything (yet), it was just a *duh* revelation. ALso, I know we are getting closer because my appointments have now shifted from once a month to once every 2 weeks! Wahoo!!! I think I am going to go take a nap...

Appointment down

Mindi and I just got back from our latest ultrasound! We were able to once again hold fast and not succumb to the gender determining demons! The kid is frickin' cute I tell you! I think it has my nose! I don't know about the rest of the little biscuit, but it's nose is definately mine. The little squirmer is up to 2lbs and 2oz- which the doc says is right on target, and I have only gained 3 lbs in the last 4 weeks, so I am pretty happy about that! I have another appointment coming up on wednesday for my gestational diabetes test, so I really hope that all goes well with that so that I can avoid having to do the extended three hour glucose test! My poor wittle kitty mittens Agnes is giving me practice for baby blowouts and so we are going to see the nice vet tomorrow- I feel so bad fo rmy wittle puss!

Rah Row!

So, last night, my adorable wifey was buttering up my belly like she does every night. Well gee wilakers, guess what she noticed?! Stretch mark babies! Can you believe it?! 26 weeks on the dot, and I am starting to get stretch marks! Of course, these stretch mark babies are stemming from some old silver stretch marks that I have had since puberty, but still- I thought my body woud hold off until 30 weeks at least! x-P

Double Digits! Wahoo!

Yippeee! We are down to 99 days in our countdown! I can hardly say that it has gone quickly- because it totally hasn't, but I am happy to be here! The baby is so active. I love how active s/he is right after I eat- those little kicks and jabs are simply dreamy! i am lucky enough to have not experienced any rib jabs just yet- all the little kung fu chops are right above by belly button or off to the sides. Mindi has been able to clearly feel all of these taps and jabs too, and one of my favorite things is spooning with her at night with my belly to her back so she can feel the commotion in my belly too.

Ahhh heavenly pregnancy...

Two Week Notice

Well, I did it, I put in my 2 week notice at work. I am excited, relieved, and bummed all at the same time. On one hand, I will be happy to not have to serve other people while I am tired and always wanting to eat and pee. Not being on my feet for 6-8 hours at a time is a plus too. I am a little bummed about it though, simply because I really like the people I work with, and having a job outside of the house helps me keep my sanity, not to mention, gives me exercise. So, my "official" last day falls the day before our last romantic vacation as a couple. I am really looking forward to the trip. I am thinking that I would like to go back to work there when the wee babe is a few months old at least- even if it is just an excuse to get out of the house, and for a little extra slush fund money.

Purging the pee sticks

Every pergnancy test that I had taken since Mindi and I tried to get pregnant was kept lovingly in a little glass cup on my desk. I had not had a real plan for them, as they piled up, but I figured that I wanted to use them to document our trials. Not too long ago, however, after a number of positive test were added to the plethora of negatives, did I realize that I really just had a bunch of peed-on cardboard sticks showcased on my desk. I decided right then that I should just take a picture and purge the pee sticks. So that's what I did. Bye bye pee pee cardboard- BYE BYE!

I love IKEA. There... I said it- I am an IKEA addict. Now, I am not necessarily an IKEA addict in that I love all of their products- I just love the creativity I see in their displays- not to mention the fact that most of their stuff is inexpensive... I know that most of the furniture is not the most high quality, but it does have style, and the fact that almost anything they sell can be put together with an allen wrench, well, that right there speaks wonders... I think, however, that what I enjoy most about visiting an IKEA store, is stepping into their little "rooms". I love the little tags that they hang on things saying "IKEA tip:...". Unfortunately for me, my retention of most of these nifty little tips is not very long-lived, and I forget 98% of them by the time I would need a good idea. These "IKEA hacks" are the most fun thing about IKEA. I just love seeing their products "re purposed" to suit an uncommon need. Which brings me to the real reason for this post... I actually discovered a blog COMPLETELY DEVOTED to IKEA hacks! And it has AWESOME IDEAS! WITH PICTURES! AND INSTRUCTIONS! AND INSPIRATION!!! Check it out! And for my friend Crystal... I found some great ideas for your litter box issue!
