Yippie kiya-ho people- we are 11weeks today! Before I start my normal post, I want to bring my attention to my friend Stacey! Today is her due date, and although I realize her Little bun could decide to keep baking for a another week or two, I just want to say that YOU ARE IN MY THOUGHTS TODAY STACEY!!!
So, onto my newest affliction... RHINITIS. Rhinitis is a fancy word for stuffy nose. I am experiencing the pregnant version of rhinitis, and unfortunately, it is an affliction that will probably last until I go into labor. Apparently, it is caused by the swelling of all soft tissue due to, in part at least, the increased blood volume in a pregnant person's body (I believe). I am also experiencing an increase in saliva, which I had read about happening in one of my books. Neither one of these things on their own is much of a problem, but put together a stuffy nose and excess saliva at night when I am trying to sleep, and you come up with the phenomenon of waking up on a wet, slimy, drool filled pillow- kind of gross...

I am excited to say that we have made it to (and past by 2 days) the 10week mark! Yay! As is habit, I did take a picture of my belly (or rather, mindi took a picture of it). Unfortunately, it came out blurry, but fortunately, it looked the EXACT SAME as my 6 and 7 week belly shots, so, no one is missing anything. I also let mindi take a picture of my pseudo 6 month belly, however, I was so mortified by having it on my computer screen that I deleted it before I had a chance to go into convulsions... So here is a reminder of what Lynn' s tummy looked like a few weeks ago, which happens to be the EXACT SAME as it looks today... maybe in a few more weeks I will get a 'bump'!

Wow- I am so over this whole "too tired to do anything but lay on the couch" business... I tried mowing the grass yesterday. That was a joke. We have a very small yard and a push reel mower (because we are ever conscious of the environment...). Typically, I love gardening, and working outside, but I have no energy! I made about 4 passes over the lawn with the mower and I was ready to lay down in the grass and sleep. It was pretty bad. Luckily, my super wife mindi came to my rescue and not only finished mowing the lawn, but she weeded too... what a great wife! I am going to go nap now...

I went out to Lunch with a friend of mine today. I was so excited to actually have a lunch date with someone! I gave her some food choices, and much to my delight, she chose Mexican! I LOVE Mexican food. I love it even more now that I am pregnant but Mindi doesn't seem to be giving into my mexican cravings nearly as much as I would think a good wife should.... but anyways... I got my fix of Mexican, and I am one happy girl! I returned home at 3:00 and promptly went to sleep lol. I kindof feel like a dog or cat; wake up, scratch my butt, eat, nap, wake up, and do it all again. I just woke up at about 6:30 and I am contemplating eating dinner...

We just got back from the Ultrasound! Everything was PERFECT. The fetus is measuring at 9w exactly, it has a big, healthy umbilical cord, a strong heartbeat, and it even moved for us! Mindi, her mom, and I couldn't be happier- and MAN what a great experience it was to have Mindi's mom with us!!! I couldn't believe that we actually saw the baby! It certainly put my mind at ease, but also made me more excited over the realization that all of the hormonal outbursts and fatigue were not in vain! OMG! I have a BABY IN THERE!!! We get another ultrasound in 4 weeks! Wahoo!

Mindi and I are uber excited! Mindi's mom just came into town to be with us at our first ultrasound TOMORROW MORNING! On one hand, I can't wait to go in, but of course, on the other hand, I am deathly afraid of what we may or may not find on the scan... is there a baby in there? ...are there 2 or more babies in there? Is there a heartbeat??? Am I measuring at the right week? There are so many things that I am nervous about, but at least I will have my 2 favorite girls there with me!!

Most everyone knows that the average indoor cat uses a litterbox. Most people do not know, however, that you can successfully train your cat to go potty in the toilet. I successfully (and singlehandedly) trained our first cat Tuna to use the toilet. Sometimes, I would have to deal with "accidents" but we managed to get past it and trained successfully. Our second cat, Agnes, was too young to train when we first got her, and so we had to revert to a litterbox again. Tuna still pees in the toilet sometimes, but enjoys playing in the sandbox too. So, now that I am pregnant, Mindi is in charge of cat litter duties. We are in the process of trying to train Agnes to use the potty, and things are a little tricky... I keep telling Mindi that she needs positive reinforcement when she does use the potty, and not so much negativity when she doesn't. Unfortunately, Mindi does not quite have the patience to sit there and "hold Agnes's hand" while she is doing her business like I did with Tuna. And because I am not allowed to be near any cat while they are "voiding" I can not help mindi through this "challenging time". I am sure that everyone is incredibly intrigued by this (...) and I will be sure to keep you all updated...

So, the pregnant sex dreams have begun... The last 2 nights in a row I have certainly worked up a sweat in my sleep. The best part? when I wake up- there is my warm-bodied delicious mama laying next to me ready to be cuddled :). And yes, this is a pic of her delicious tummy ;).

So, Mindi and I had dentist appointments together today. The first thing I told the hygienist, before she even got the little dribble-bib on me was that I was pregnant. I have read that you are suppose to let your dentist know. Soooo, she went to tell the dentist and he came in (he is pretty darn funny) and said, "Well, congratulations Have a great day, and be sure to pay on your way out, we will see you in 9 more months!" Of course, he was joking about the paying part, but he did say that he didn't want to do the cleaning until I was in my second trimester, so I was let off the hook until July! Hehe!

So, Last night, our good friends from down the street took us out to dinner at a fancy-schmancy restaurant that was pleasantly down-to-earth, AND completely vegetarian! It was FANTASIC! They took us out to celebrate us getting pregnant and we had a great time! I got to wear my afore-posted red shirt-dress, and although I was insanely bloated, I felt very cute which is a first in a while! The girls were lovely, my wife was lovely, and the food was awesome! Yippie!

Today was a gorgeous day in Seattle. It was in the upper 70's with a nice breeze. I wasn't working today and although I didn't feel like I had enough energy to work in my garden, I decided that I had to get out of my house. So I went to the Fred Meyer to wander around through their garden area. After that, I went into the store and looked at the clothes. I was attempting to ogle at some maternity garb, but much to my disappointment, they didn't have a maternity section. I wandered into the juniors department, knowing that I would not be able to buy any new clothes because of the inevitability of outgrowing them in a couple months. I was kind of bummed that I couldn't treat myself to anything new, when I came around the corner and spotted the most adorable shirt dress! I tried it on in the fitting room, making sure to stuff my little sweatshirt up underneath to see how the shirt dress would look with a preggo belly. It is glorious! And it was on sale! This shirt dress is proof that I will be able to find CUTE clothes that
A. Look good on me BEFORE I get a belly
B. Will look even cuter WHEN I have a belly
C. Will effectively hide my post-partum pooch in style!

Typically, I would post a picture of my belly, and I did take one, but it looks the same as weeks 5 and 6, so I decided against being repetitive! I have been feeling pretty crappy lately. Luckily, I have not really had any recognizable morning sickness, but these hormones are killing me! The mood swings and fatigue are wreaking havok on me and Mindi both. It is hard for me to go to work- I am so tired and foggy brained. I can't wait till the second trimester and then I will get some relief!

I am getting pretty anxious at this point to have my ultrasound. I suppose that it makes sense for a typical woman to have her first ultrasound at 9weeks, but it is VERY nerve wracking for me, especially since my cycles were completely monitored and artificial. I think that, had I told the girl that made my appointment for me that I had been having monitored IUI cycles, she may have scheduled something earlier to help me have a piece of mind. The annoying thoughts of me "not being pregnant anymore" are seeping in because I have not been quite as tired lately. I have also not really experienced any morning sickness either. I am just dying for a little piece of mind. Mindi's mom will be flying in in 2 weeks and will be coming with us to our ultrasound. I am really excited about this, as is she, and I really hope to see a healthy embryo in there. She is bursting at the seams to tell people that we are pregnant, and I think that she will do that shortly following her visit if all goes well with the ultrasound...

I have heard that pregnant women's dreams can get a little morbid and freaky. Last night I dreamt that I went with my dad to the Walgreens for my first ultrasound, and I was able to see that I was carrying twins. Then, when we got home, we found my mother (who is in a wheelchair in real life) up on the top bunk of a bunk bed, dead, after choking on a banana and peanut butter sandwich. I know, a little freaky you say? It gets worse! Then, we find out that I had just miscarried one of the babies and all of a sudden, the baby and my mother are reduced to "symbolic cheeseburgers" and put in glass jars until we can figure out where to bury them. Now, when I say symbolic cheeseburgers, I mean, my dad and I are looking at these cheeseburgers as if they are our actual family members... I have no clue where this funky dream came from. It was quite disturbing to me.... I even wrote my mom an email this morning. I didn't tell her about my dream, but I had half a mind to tell her to stay away from banana and peanut butter sandwichs...

So, last night, my dreams involved zombies, miniature pool tables, mindi, acid filled sugar cubes, pregnancy tests, and hundreds of whacked out "tweens" in an assembly hall. It was pretty strange and amazingly clear as far as my dreams go. Usually, my dreams are fairly blurry and move in slow motion. Lately, however, my dreams have been considerably clear...
