Too Much Free Time

This is an example of the sick and twisted things I do in my spare time... Let me present, Exhibit A: The "Projected 3rd trimester Belly"...

I will have to show a side-by side shot of my "actual 38w belly" when we get to that point- I think it will be funny...

Crazy Dreams

Pregnancy = Crazy dreams. All night last night, I dreamt about shopping for maternity clothes. But not just regular maternity clothes, fancy maternity clothes. Like the kind of fancy maternity clothes I would wear to a wedding or grand ball. It was weird- and very sparkly...

6w2d pic

Ok, I am pretty much against polluting the web with images of my fat globules. I can't help but notice, however, a difference in my body from last week to this week. I also feel that it is my duty, as a pregnant woman, to post these pictures for all the other girls out there that are obsessed with seeing how their 6 week bellies compare to everyone Else's... so here it is- the 6w 2d belly. :)

Nice Headlights!

Ok, so within the last 3 days, my boobs have officially turned into jugs- at least to me and my girl... Mindi was so sure that my boobs had grown by leaps and bounds that she asked me to try on one of my bras. I was skeptical that they had gotten that much bigger, but sure enough, I have to retire my underwires- my boobs are pouring out the sides like Niagara, and in a few days they will be pouring out the top of the dams too! Thank goodness I have at least 2 soft cup bras and a sports bra! I will have to buy some big mamas soon...

Pregnancy Brain

Wow. I had heard of pregnant women getting "pregnancy brain". I had always thought, "how could someone just suddenly become forgetful and mindless?" I still don't have my answer, but I have come to the painful realization that I have just gotten "pregnancy brain". It wasn't yet an hour after mindi and I went out to dinner, that we were talking about it and I actually had to ask her where we ate... that scares me...

Weepy and Sleepy

Today was kindof funny- I woke up reeeeally happy. Then I got reeeeally grumpy. My wife called me on it in a nice way and then I began to complain about how tired I was. She suggested I try taking a nap and I started bawling. I have no ide ahow she deals with these wacky hormones so well... kudos to her!

Super Sniffer

Yesterday, I experienced the beginnings of the "Pregnant Super Sniffer". A few days ago, I put 3 Little scented candles in our bedroom. Mindi thought that their smell was a little overpowering and asked me to remove them from the room. I told her that we should stick the candles in our sock and undies drawers instead and she agreed. So in with the panties they went and were forgotten. SO, yesterday, Mindi and I went out to lunch. We were driving in the car and I asked her if she could smell "something". She didn't smell anything, and then I realized that it was those candles! I could smell mindi's panties! It was purty funny, then at work, I kept smelling cigarettes as if they were lit right next to my head...

5w2d belly pic

Ok, so this is NOT the "psuedo six month Belly" pic I was talking about before... Luckily for me and the rest of the world, I am not nearly as bloated now as I was, although my boobies are getting bigger every day! SO, this is my official 5w2d belly pic. My belly is sucked in as far as it will go to give everyone a good base picture to go on. Any bubbles or bumps you see in this picture are my own belly fat deposits, not to be mistaken for baby belly. I think that one of my online blogging FF friends said it best when she said that she can't wait for her "B" belly to turn into a "C" belly! Well, that certain online, FF pregnant friend that just hit her 3rd trimester, and has commented on my blogs (thanks doll) definately HAS an ADORABLE "D" belly that she had been longing for!

So, there it is, the very first, 100% Honest - to - Goodness, no faking the pic by laying on the bed, OFFICIAL 5w2d belly pic.

I clink my glass (of apple juice) to bigger things to come... *clink cink!

My Favorite Puss

This is Tuna. He is my favorite pet. He is a HUGE (20 lb), sweet-as-can-be cat, that loves to roll over on his back and be used as a broom, whilst using his tail as the handle (picture a furry helicopter on the floor). I found him in an alley behind an old workplace of mine in Chicago. I think he will be a good baby warmer (under a VERY WATCHFUL EYE of course...)

Such a Chicken

I am too chicken to post a belly shot! Luckily, I am not quite as bloated today, so that makes me feel better...

Still Bloated

You know, maybe I will take an "I'm so bloated I look 6 months pregnant" picture- just for shits and giggles... Maybe I will even post it on some belly gallery in with the rest of the 5 week old bellies hehe- I am sure that the other women would either tell me that I posted in the wrong weekly session, or they will ask me if I have had a couple kids already, or they will ask me if I am having septuplets...

Non Pregnancy Taken for Granted #4

Canned Tuna. I love me some good canned Tuna! The best is when you get the Horsey Sauce from Arby's and mix that into the can of tuna- it is sooo the bomb! But alas! For the next 9 months, I am not allowed my delectable, wonderful, Chicken of the Sea...

A Tire With Arms and Legs

So last night, my love and I are laying in bed. I am struggling to get comfortable in the midst of the incredible bloating and water retention I am encountering. My belly is so big from the bloating I am sure I caould pass for a woman that is at least six months pregnant. I would post a picture, but, although I don't think anyone is reading this blog, I am too embarresed to post a picture of my pseudo six month belly...

Anyways... so I am trying to get comfortable, and my lovely wife leans over and starts telling me how much she loves me and how much she loves my body and proceeds to follow right into the comment "...but you look like a tire with arms and legs..." Well THANKS honey, for that bit of sweetness... that was just the comment I needed to put me at ease before bed, don't ya think? A Nice warm, fuzzy comment like that... sigh... Sometimes I feel like she has less common sense than a man...

How Many Beans?

So, there was a gal at work that predicted my pregnancy. 5 Days before I got my positive, she said, out of the blue that she thought I was pregnant. I didn't believe her. I got a negative test the next day and went back and told her. She held strong that I was pregnant. Lo and behold- I am... So, the other day, she started talking about the sex etc. of the baby. She firmly believes that I will be having twins- 1 boy and 1 girl... we will have to wait till May 17th to find out!!

Non Pregnancy Taken for Granted #3

MMMM Beeeeer.... ok, well, any alcohol I suppose... All in good time Lynn, only 9 more months to wait...

Non Pregnancy Taken For Granted #2

Smoking. We don't need to go any further than to simply say, I was a smoker. The moment that we found out that we were pregnant, we tossed any and all cigs that we had and neither of us have touched one since. Smoking is a hard hard hard habit to kick, but sometimes, one's own health isn't a good enough reason- sometimes it takes the health of a little helpless being that is a strong enough reason to quit. And Quit we did, yay for us!

Non-Pregnancy taken for granted #1

The cat litter box. Now, I realize that the cat litter box is typically not a chore that one holds near and dear to their heart. It is a smelly job, no matter how much Arm & Hammer you put in there, but someone has to do it. Now, I have never disliked being the pooper scooper. I found the chore to be somewhat relaxing and it had a certain sensation of instant gratification. I mean, you could scrub your kitchen all day and it may still look dirty, but a few scoops with the pooper wand and voila!

So, as some of you might know, a pregnant woman is not supposed to scoop the cat litter because of a certain bacteria in cat poop. Now, when we got cats, my girl's only requirement was that she would never have to scoop the poop, which tells you a little bit of her opinion on the job. Well, the second we found out I was pregnant, the first thing she did upon finding out was run to the catbox and clean it out. Now, the real reason that I am finding myself missing this chore is not really because of the chore at all. It is because I am not even allowed in the litter room, which happens to be where the washer and dryer are, the drying wrack, the iron and board... you know, all the stuff that a good pregnant housewife needs to survive!

Non Pregnancy Taken for Granted...

For the record, I am completely delighted that I am pregnant! My partner is delighted, our families are delighted, and I am hoping that the animals don't mind either. I feel less nervous today than yesterday (partly because my boobs are majorly sore again) and because I received a lot of support and good advice from some good friends of mine.

I really hope that Despite any pregnancy-related strife I may endure during this pregnancy, I will still enjoy the pregnancy to the fullest. At this moment, however, I would like to recognize some things from my "non-pregnant" existence that I took for granted...

What the Hell...

Can you say CONFUSED? My boobs no longer hurt, and the test that I took this morning showed a slightly lighter line than what I got 3 days ago... could this possibly be a chemical pregnancy? Maybe an early miscarriage? Did I spell that right? I have no clue about anything right now...

First Belly Pic

So, it may bne a little unconventional and blurry, and I am sure I will update the pictures soon, but for now, here it is- the first belly pic EVER at 4weeks, 3 days...
